Instructions
- 1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- 2. Grease a 9-inch square baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- 3. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
- 4. In another bowl, beat the melted butter and eggs together. Stir in the milk and, if using, vanilla extract.
- 5. Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
- 6. Gently fold in the sliced peaches.
- 7. Pour the batter into your prepared pan and spread it out evenly.
- 8. For the crumb topping, combine ½ cup flour, ½ cup sugar, and ½ cup melted butter until crumbly. Sprinkle it over the batter.
- 9. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
- 10. Allow to cool for about 10 minutes before slicing.
- 11. Serve warm or at room temperature with garnishes.
